Value of the Month: Integrity

Date Posted: Sunday 21 June 2026

At ABQ Education Group, we believe that true character reveals itself not in what we say, but in what we do. This month, we highlight a cornerstone of our values framework: Integrity, the foundation of trust, leadership, and responsible citizenship.

Integrity shapes the kind of people our students become. It guides their decisions, their relationships, and the impact they will have on their communities and the world.

What Does Integrity Mean at ABQ?

Integrity means living with honesty, fairness, and strong moral principles. It includes four essential commitments:

  • Standing up for what we believe

Students learn to speak the truth with courage, defend what is right, and act according to their values—even when it is difficult.

  • Being honest with ourselves and others

Honesty builds trust. Students are encouraged to reflect openly on their strengths and areas for growth, and to communicate truthfully and respectfully with peers and teachers.

  • Demonstrating fairness in judgment and action

Integrity means treating people with justice and respect, making decisions based on evidence and empathy rather than bias or pressure.

  • Fulfilling commitments and promises

Reliability matters. Whether completing homework, supporting a team, or keeping one’s word, students learn that integrity grows when actions match intentions.

How We Cultivate Integrity in ABQ Schools

Integrity is woven into daily school life through learning experiences and expectations that encourage responsibility and ethical behaviour:

  • Clear codes of conduct that promote respect, honesty, and accountability.
  • Ethics discussions and real-life case studies that help students explore moral dilemmas and reflect on responsible decision-making.
  • Collaborative learning where fairness, trust, and communication are essential.
  • Leadership opportunities that develop reliability, service, and responsibility.
  • Restorative practices that help students take ownership of mistakes and learn from them.

These experiences shape students who are not only academically strong, but also principled and trustworthy.

A Message to Our Students

  • Integrity is the compass that guides your future.
  • Choose honesty, even when it’s uncomfortable.
  • Keep your word, even when it’s hard.
  • Treat others with fairness and respect, even when no one is watching.
  • Each time you act with integrity, you strengthen your character—and influence others to do the same.

A Message to Our Families

Thank you for modelling integrity at home through honesty, fairness, and consistency. When school and family work together, students learn to value truth, responsibility, and ethical behaviour in every aspect of life.

Let us continue building a culture where integrity is lived daily—through courageous decisions, honest conversations, fair actions, and promises kept. At ABQ, we teach not only knowledge, but character.
