ABQ’s New Learning Support Programme

ABQ is proud to announce the launch of Shamil, an enhanced support programme within the primary sections of our international schools.

Shamil is a comprehensive initiative designed to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all our students, meeting diverse education needs whilst ensuring additional social and emotional support for the students who need it. This programme caters for students in grades 1-6, focusing on those facing learning difficulties, requiring language support or dealing with behavioural challenges.

 What does Shamil offer?

• Individualised Support: Tailored programming and support for academic, social, and emotional growth
• Trained Professionals: Newly appointed experts collaborating closely with class teachers
• Improved facilities: Various enhanced learning spaces designed to promote self-organisation, provide a calming area, aid sensory integration, or function as skill mastering centres
• Integrated Classrooms: Creating welcoming and supportive environments, fostering collaboration among peers
• Professional Development: Ongoing training for ABQ staff in differentiated teaching practices

The review for acceptance into the programme is conducted meticulously, ensuring alignment with our areas of expertise. This ensures that we can effectively address and support the unique needs presented by each student in the programme.
