Ayah Thamer was awarded Top in Oman for A Level Chemistry (Cambridge).
Zainalabedeen Al-Saadi achieved Top in Oman for IGCSE English as a Second Language (Cambridge).

ABQ Education Group is proud to announce the start of a strategic partnership with the Oman Padel Committee. This collaboration establishes the new Padel Youth Centre at ABQ Azzan Bin Qais International School in Madinat Sultan Qaboos, marking a significant step in supporting the rapid growth of one of Oman’s fastest-growing sports.

The Youth Centre will serve as a national hub for identifying and developing young Omani athletes, offering structured training pathways for boys and girls aged 6 to 18. Led by certified coaches from the Oman Padel Committee, the programme aims to nurture future talent for the Oman Youth Padel National Teams.

ABQ Education Group Chief Executive Officer, Ali Asgar Shroff, said, “This partnership reflects ABQ’s ongoing commitment to providing outstanding opportunities for young people in Oman. By hosting the Padel Youth Centre on our campus, we are taking part in both sport and national talent development, while giving our students and the wider community access to high-quality coaching infrastructure and pathways to excellence.”

The first initiative under the partnership will be a dedicated kick-off tournament for Omani nationals aged 12 to 18, taking place from 18–20 December 2025, followed by a full evaluation and training schedule beginning in January 2026.

ABQ Education Group recently hosted its fourth Annual Inter-ABQ Athletics Day, bringing together students from Grade 1 to Grade 12 for a dynamic day of sport, teamwork and school spirit. The event featured top athletes from all three international schools, ABQ Azzan Bin Qais, ABQ Seeb, and ABQ Sohar, who qualified after completing trials at their own campuses.

Held at the impressive Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat, the event provided an exciting and professional setting for students to compete in a variety of running events. Boys and girls took part in sprints races and relay competitions, showcasing their athletic talent, determination and sportsmanship.

For the first time, art students from ABQ Education Group’s three international schools — ABQ Azzan Bin Qais, ABQ Seeb, and ABQ Sohar — joined together to participate in a major art exhibition in Muscat. ABQ Seeb International School was honoured to welcome Prof. Dr Yasser and the team from Sultan Qaboos University Hospital to ABQ Seeb. They delivered an inspiring and eye‑opening session for the Primary students on childhood blood illnesses, highlighting the vital role of blood and platelet donations.

The school was proud to launch their Box of Happiness Project, now in its second year. Through this initiative, the students prepare thoughtful gifts and heartfelt letters of encouragement for young patients in the Blue 2 Unit at SQUH. It is their way of sharing compassion and hope with children facing medical challenges.

Congratulations to the ABQ Azzan Bin Qais Model United Nations (MUN) team, whose outstanding efforts earned 10 awards, including 2 of the 4 Best Delegate titles, at the recent Al Sahwa School MUN Conference.

Model United Nations is an academic simulation in which students take on the roles of diplomats representing different countries. They engage in debates, negotiate solutions to global issues, and work collaboratively to draft resolutions, mirroring the processes of the real United Nations. MUN is known for developing essential skills such as critical thinking, public speaking, research, teamwork, diplomacy, and confidence.

For the ABQ Azzan students, the conference was an opportunity to broaden their global understanding, build leadership qualities, and experience the excitement of international relations in a dynamic, hands-on environment. Their impressive performance reflects their dedication, preparation, and passion for engaging with world issues.

ABQ Education Group proudly served as the official education partner for Muscat’s first “RUN” event, recently held at Shatti Al Seeb. The lively occasion featured glow-in-the-dark fun runs of both 5 km and 10 km, as participants donned fluorescent accessories and illuminated the track for a vibrant, community-centred celebration.

As part of their ongoing ABQ Wellness Programme, approximately 500 members of the ABQ community came together, some to run, others to cheer, showcasing the group’s commitment to nurturing a balanced and active lifestyle.

The event, which ran from late afternoon into the night, offered not just physical activity but also a festive atmosphere. Runners sported glow bracelets, LED headbands and other luminous gear, turning the seaside course into a sea of radiant colour.

ABQ’s role went beyond participation. Their presence as an education partner emphasises how the school group values more than academic excellence. It actively promotes holistic education, which includes physical health, community engagement and wellbeing for students, staff and families alike.

Students, staff and parents from ABQ have successfully completed this year’s annual Umrah trip, a spiritually enriching journey to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina. The trip offered participants the unique opportunity to visit Islam’s most sacred sites, including the Kaaba, Masjid al-Haram, Masjid an-Nabawi, and other revered landmarks.

Throughout the trip, participants engaged in prayers, reflection and learning about the historical and religious significance of each location. For many, it was a deeply moving experience that strengthened their faith and connection to Islamic traditions.

The ABQ community cherishes these moments as a way to foster spiritual growth, unity, and shared values among students, parents, and staff. The trip also provided opportunities for participants to bond, support one another, and create lasting memories in a safe and welcoming environment.

ABQ Education Group has marked another milestone in preparing its students for life beyond the classroom, as close to 200 Grade 11 students from their three international schools in Muscat and Sohar successfully completed this year’s Job Shadowing Initiative (JSI).

Now in its third-year edition, the initiative has evolved into one of ABQ’s flagship career-readiness experiences, designed to give students authentic exposure to the modern workplace. By spending a full day alongside professionals, students observe real operations, understand expectations and witness the skills required to thrive in today’s fast-changing world.

This year’s programme recorded impressive participation, with 187 students placed across 11 different sectors, partnering with 16 leading organisations. From finance and aviation to healthcare, architecture, technology and the creative industries, the experience allowed students to connect their classroom learning with meaningful, practical insight.

Across the two trips, approximately 70 students from ABQ Azzan Bin Qais, ABQ Seeb and ABQ Sohar International Schools participated in an unforgettable skiing experience designed to build confidence, independence, and global awareness.

ABQ Education Group has announced strong progress in the selection process for the 2025–2026 ABQ Merit Scholarship Awards, following an exceptional response from the community. This year, the Group received close to 300 applications from students across Oman, reflecting the growing interest in ABQ’s high-quality academic offering.

All applicants who met the initial eligibility requirements have now been shortlisted. Over the weekend, these students completed their CAT4 benchmarking assessments, an important step in identifying high-potential learners who demonstrate strong academic aptitude and critical thinking skills.

ABQ Education Group is offering 12 full academic scholarships for the upcoming academic year, available across its three CIS and COBIS accredited international schools: ABQ Azzan Bin Qais in Muscat, ABQ Seeb, and ABQ Sohar. Three scholarships are offered per grade from Grade 9 to Grade 12, covering IGCSE, GED, AS Level and A Level pathways. Each scholarship provides a 100% tuition fee waiver, valid for two years except for Grade 12, which is granted for one year.

The event brought together talented players from ABQ Azzan, ABQ Seeb, and ABQ Sohar for a morning of high-energy competition, teamwork, and school pride.

The atmosphere on court was electric as students demonstrated impressive skill, determination, and sportsmanship across all age categories. From fast-paced offensive plays to strong defensive performances, each match highlighted the growing strength of basketball within the ABQ community.

ABQ Sohar delivered an exceptional performance throughout the tournament, emerging victorious in all categories and proudly securing the overall trophy. Their achievement reflects the commitment of their students and coaches, as well as the supportive environment fostered across all ABQ schools.

ABQ Education Group proudly concluded a highly successful edition of the Southampton Cup, which brought together ABQ SFC players from all three ABQ international schools for a vibrant and memorable day of football. The tournament showcased exceptional skill, sportsmanship, and teamwork, reflecting the strength of ABQ’s enriched sporting programmes.

Young athletes from ABQ Azzan Bin Qais, ABQ Seeb, and ABQ Sohar competed across multiple age categories, displaying impressive determination and passion on the field. A special congratulations goes to the U9 team from ABQ Sohar for their outstanding victory, and to the U12 team from ABQ Azzan, who also secured top honours in their division. ABQ Seeb delivered a remarkable overall performance, proudly taking home the overall championship trophy.
