Hello!
Thank you for checking out ABQ Education Group.
How may we help you?

Welcome

Greetings and welcome to ABQ Seeb Secondary School (Grades 7-12). My name is Barney Kruger. I am the Head of Secondary and we appreciate your interest in our school.

ABQ Seeb has become a top-tier international school with outstanding facilities, excellent academic results, and a warm, supportive community of parents and staff dedicated to the school’s success. Diversity is one of our greatest strengths. ABQ Seeb has students from over 38 nationalities attending our school. I believe that our internationalism and diversity set us apart from other schools in Oman. Our staff are so much more than mere subject experts who meet the academic needs of the students in our classrooms. They strive to get to know each student personally and to enrich them in a safe and nurturing environment.

Our students and staff see every day as an opportunity to grow and a chance to learn, and the journey as a life-long student begins the moment a child is registered at ABQ Seeb.

We provide students with a character-building foundation through service programmes, community development, as well as our core values. In addition, the school also excels at providing students with a ‘passport to the world’ and our graduates attend top universities around the world.

Curriculum

The main goal of our curriculums is to develop imaginative, enquiring, and informed minds and to prepare our students for future opportunities, responsibilities and experiences.

  • Grades 7 and 8 follow the Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme, as well as Islamic Studies, Arabic and Social Studies, which are delivered in Arabic.
  • Grade 9-12 students choose either Cambridge IGCSE, AS and A Level with a variety of subjects, and Edexcel Mathematics, or the local bilingual GED stream offered by MOE.
  • The MOE bilingual stream strives to develop intellectual and technical skills to face the challenges of a rapidly changing world, whilst fostering the Islamic Arabic heritage.
  • Cambridge and Edexcel syllabi and assessments are the same worldwide, offering a set of varied and transferrable lifelong skills.
  • With the goal of the whole-student approach, PE, Music, Art, ICT and Life Skills are offered as enrichment subjects for Grades 7-8 and for bilingual classes from Grades 9-10.

Pastoral Care

Therefore, we aim to foster an understanding of the whole student, which involves a consistent and comprehensive approach which addresses the following key aspects of each student:

  • Academic
  • Personal growth
  • Aspirations
  • Challenges
  • Emotional development
  • Leadership opportunities

Through our Pastoral Care, students are able to gain:

  • A sense of belonging
  • Emotional development
  • Positive attitudes
  • A respectful learning environment
  • Supportive networks

In addition to this, we also place a large emphasis on being able to support our students once they leave Grade 12 by giving them ample career and university counselling.Parent involvement is also crucial to the development of the whole student as this enables students to witness positive relationships between their parents and teachers.

Unique Programmes

We offer a balanced combination of teacher-led and technology-based lessons with the purpose of education beyond the classroom and into real-world skills. Students and parents have daily online access to classwork, notes and homework via the Google platforms and ABQ 1:1 Chromebooks.

For benchmarking purposes, Secondary students do CAT 4 and GL assessments.

Our outcome improvement programmes include GEDx, ABQ’s supplemental support programme aimed at improving academic results in the Grade 12 GED phase, as well as Mobeen, our Arabic excellence programme.

We aspire to encourage project-based learning, in line with international standards, to develop deep content knowledge as well as critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication skills. This is in line with our Discovering You Programme (DYP). DYP and Unifrog also assist students in their selection of universities around the world and the minimum academic requirements.

To assist our students, we prepare Holiday Support Packs and offer additional support lessons during and after school.
